Risk Assessment

Risk Assessment

Risks:

Tripping/Knocking over the tripod: This is my main risk as I will be using a tripod for all parts of filming. Knocking it over could result in damaging the tripod and camera and tripping over it could result in physical pain. In order to prevent this i will make sure myself as the director and anybody involved in the music video will be fully aware of where the tripod is located at all times. I'd also make sure no one was running around in the area that I'm filming in.
Paper cuts: When handling small photos it could result in paper cuts if not careful, so I'm going to make sure my actor doesn't rush with them. I'll also provide plasters on set in case anyone cuts themselves.
Lighting: When recording my music video lighting is also a potential risk, as someone could knock over the light or burn themselves. To prevent the light being knocked over i will try to put it in a non-invasive area and I won't allow any disruptive behaviour near it.To prevent the risk of someone burning themself, I won't let anyone close to it, apart from myself as i know how to use it. I'll also turn off the light if it is no longer in use as overheated light bulbs create a fire hazard.
Electrocution: This is also a risk when filming, due to the amount of wires coming off the lighting. I will make sure to keep wires/lighting away from areas that may accidentally get wet and I'll make sure to be careful when plugging/unplugging lighting from the plugs. I will also make sure I have the ability to provide medical care, if anyone was to get electrocuted.
Tripping over outside objects: The public settings in which I filmed in, such as town park will contain objects which I cannot control, such as benches and roads. I'll make sure to make my actors aware of their surroundings to prevent any accidents.
Falling into the pond: I will ensure my actors keep a safe proximity away from the water to prevent falling/slipping in.
Slipping over leaves: I will make sure my actors walk at a safe pace in order to prevent from slipping on wet leaves.
Pricking finger on roses: My actor will be carrying a bouquet or roses, so in order to prevent him from prickling himself I'll make sure the thorns are cut off before filming.
Weather conditions: I will have to check the weather forecast before filming in order to know what the weather will be and although I can't control it I'll have to ensure that if it's cold my actors are wearing suitable clothing to prevent sickness.
Animals: Due to filming in a park I will have to be aware of any wildlife or anyone walking their dog, I will make sure I keep a safe distance away from any animals and in some cases I may stop filming to ensure no animals are harmed.
Public: I will have to be aware of any members of the public and ensure that none of them are hurt or trip over any equipment. I'll also make sure I am out the way of passing people so that I am not an inconvenience. Some people may also not want to be filmed in the background, therefore I will try not to get other people's faces in my video as they have not given permission to be filmed.
